Expands Program to Share Solar-Generated Value with Non-Profits and Other Community Organizations

Reading, PA, March 28, 2025 – In order to better express its commitment to non-profits and local communities, RER Energy Group is excited to announce that it has re-registered as a Benefit Corporation under Pennsylvania law. A benefit corporation is a business that operates in a socially and economically responsible manner that enhances local communities.
After 16 years of operations, filing as a Benefit Corporation goes beyond a symbolic change; it highlights RER’s deep commitment to making positive impacts on local communities. Over the years, RER has consistently prioritized maximizing solar project value for local organizations, treating employees with respect, ensuring customer education and satisfaction, and pursuing projects that deliver financial, environmental, and societal benefits.
Now, RER is expanding on that foundation to offer an innovative Solar Share proposition, where RER shares more value created through its owned solar arrays with its non-profit clients. “Our Solar Share Model can be transformative for our non-profit Partners,” said Jim Kurtz, President of RER Energy Group. “This re-registration as a Benefit Corporation not only acknowledges RER’s foundational principles but reinforces our commitment to sharing more of the financial benefits of solar with our non-profit Partners and their local communities.”
